About Bismuth Bi powder:
Bismuth when fresh produced is a silvery crystalline and brittle metal that often gives off a pinkish hue in the atmosphere. Bismuth is the most diamagnetic metal, with a thermal conductivity that is lower than mercury. It is very resistant to electrical current and has the highest Hall coefficient.
Bismuth dust is an amorphous spherical material with colors ranging from dark gray to black, depending on their size.
It exhibits a very high electrical resistance. Also, it has the greatest Hall effect of all metals (i.e. the greatest electrical resistance increase when the material is subject to magnetic fields). Bismuth can be dissolved in concentrated nitric oxygen, and is therefore stable to both water and oxygen. Bismuth salts all form insoluble compounds when they are added to water.

Bismuthimite, bismite, and cobalt are the two most important bismuth ores. Bismuth can occur naturally in the metal and as crystals within the sulfides minerals of cobalt silver, nickel and tin. Bismuth is usually produced from lead and copper melting, particularly in the USA. Bolivia, Peru, Mexico (and Canada) are the main areas that it's mined. But, only 3.000 tonnes per annum is produced. It is impossible to know how much bismuth there is, though it appears unlikely that this metal will run out.

For bismuth powder production, it is better to use fresh prepared A-Bi2O3. To do this, reduce the solution with a mix of molecular and atomic hydrogen at 220C. A reduction reaction between a-Bi2O3 and a-3-Bi took place, without the formation any intermediate phase.
Bismuth powder may also be produced using such methods as mechanical comminution and electrolysis at high current densities of nitrate or sulfate solution, electrolysis with BiCl3 and glacial acid in methyl alcohol and sulfate, reduction of bismuth salts in water solutions with different agents and cathodic reductions of bismuth oxide.
Bismuth powder Uses:
Bismuth Powder is for the preparation of pressed sputtering targets. High-surface area powders can also be used in applications such as water treatment, fuel cell or solar applications.
Bismuth material is used to make low melting solders, fusible alloys and bird shot as well low-toxicity fishing sinkers. Bismuth compounds may also be used to make pharmaceuticals. Industry uses bismuth compounds to create catalysts when producing acrylonitrile. It is used as the base material for rubber and synthetic fibers.
Bismuth dust can also be used to lubricate the surface. By adding 0.1- 0.3% of bi nanoparticles to the grease, it will make a selflubricating, self laminating layer to protect and improve the performance.
Bismuth dust may be used in the metalurgical industry. They can be added to cast iron, steel, and aluminum alloys, which will improve its cutting performance.
Bismuth dust can be used for magnetic materials. The thermal neutron absorb cross-section of bismuth is smaller, the melting point is lower, and boiling point are higher, making it a suitable heat transfer medium to use in a nuclear reactor.
Bismuth Powder Storage Conditions:
A damp reunion could affect Bi powder's dispersion and use performance. Bismuth Bi should be stored in vacuum bags and kept dry. Bismuth Bi must not be exposed to the air. Additionally, it is important to avoid stressing the Bi powder.
Packing & Shipping Bismuth Bi-Powder:
